Which Indian desserts would you prefer to eat as ‘Christmas Delights’?

OMG! The much-awaited Christmas is right at our doorsteps and Santa is waiting for us all with his gifts. But the Xmas meals are always different with each culture. So in today’s blog, we are targeting the Indian meals prepared for Christmas. The number of people visiting the Indian restaurant in Seattle is increasing every day because everybody wants to get a special Christmas delight. The Christmas special delights are always sweet. So let’s talk about some sweet dishes:

Rasmalai – You feel like tasting the world’s best sweet dish

Indian Song Dedicated To Rasmalai: ‘Kya Khoob Dikhti Ho, Badi Sundar Lgti Ho!’

Rasamalai at Indian restaurant Kirkland incorporates saffron in it which adds a bit of different colour to it. Being differently sweet makes the day of the one who eats it. It is a Bengali sweet which is prepared with rich Indian herbs and spices. The full cream cows’ milk is used to prepare it. Apart from the taste and the sweetness, because of being made with milk, Rasmalai has its nutritional value as well. It contains a lot of calcium.

Gulab Jamun – Hot, Spongy, Soft and the Sugary balls

Indian Song Dedicated to Gulab Jamun: ‘My heart goes Mmmm…Mmmm’

Gulab Jamun is the hot, brown, soft and sugary balls that swim in the pool of sugar syrup. This dish is a favourite of every Indian. Every time we dine on Indian food, we never consider it ‘Done’ until we are not getting something sweet to eat. And since it is winter and the icing on the cake is Christmas week, people are even more likely to delight their taste buds. So they are admiring the brilliant taste of the Gulab Jamuns.

Gajar Ka Halwa – 3R Desert: Red, Rich and Royal

Indian Song Dedicated To Gajar Ka Halwa: ‘Tere Bin Kaise Jiya, Kaise Jiya Tere Bin (In all these summers)’

Made with Grated Carrots, full cream milk, khoya, Shakkar or Sugar and to add that richness, dry fruits are a must. Slow cooking allows the different flavours to get submerged in this dish. Gajar ka halwa is made in every home in the winter season. At last, when the whole halwa is prepared you can temper it with desi ghee to bring that Indianness.

It’s my personal favourite.

Basundi – The creamy white dessert

Indian Song Dedicated To Basundi – ‘Humko Pyar Hua, Puri Hui Dua ‘

Made with the full cream milk, the milk is heated until it turns to something hot. When the milk gets thickened, you can temper it with the rich nuts. Basundi is a popular dish in the western states.
